Autumn, Crafted.

Can you feel the shift? Autumn is coming and with it one of the biggest yearly transitional shifts for families. New school year, new activities, the shift of schedules,  stress from change. With all this comes a sense of questioning ourselves as mothers. Should we sign up for this? Will that be too much? Are they over-scheduled? Will we ever have dinner as a family again? How can I keep meals healthy? Yep. These questions run through our minds and distract us from the moment. They make us questions ourselves, and it doesn’t feel good.

What if we answered these questions now? What if we crafted your autumn to meet your needs? What do you wish for this season? We can do that.

Feminine Sovereignty

Sovereignty.png

Sovereignty is directly connected to health and wellness. Sovereignty allows us to act from a place of confidence, listen to our intuition, ask for help when needed, and face conflict with courage and creativity. We are more likely to make choices that feed our wellness and when confronted with a barrier, we are more likely to address that barrier with ease. So, cultivating sovereignty in our lives will not protect us from all illness or misfortune, but it will offer us more options when illness and misfortune present themselves.

We are all innately sovereign beings. We all have this pool of wealthy wellness within us. But, having sovereignty and enacting sovereignty are very different. We must enact our sovereignty in order to be leaders in our lives, our families, our communities, and our businesses. Feminine sovereignty, in particular, requires cultivation. And Feminine Sovereignty is what the world is asking for at this moment. Feminine leadership and empowerment look very different from the leadership and "power" we are familiar with in modern western cultures. Self- reign requires self-mastery and self-governance. This beautiful word, sovereignty, is indeed something we all possess and it requires diligence and dedication to activate. It is a practice, being sovereign.

Yoga, meditation, coaching, mindfulness, therapy, self-inquiry, inner-work these are ways we can support our practice in sovereignty and train our selves for a life of self-reign. With this gift of sovereignty, we can share our leadership with others. We can lead our own lives, our families, our communities and our businesses from a place of true feminine leadership. Feminine leadership is founded in compassion and cooperation, open-hearted courageousness and creativity. Fostering this inner-compass within ourselves is a gift to other women and the world. One sovereign woman takes the hand of another.

Nurture Peace with Presence: SHINE

soothe.png

I have always been a healer. I have always been one to question and look for ways I could serve. I have a desperate dream that we can all live in greater harmony with each other.
As I grew up, and then navigated this world as an adult and a parent, I found more and more "problems". How could I help when there were so many causes that needed attention, so many issues that needed so many champions?

We each have a purpose in this world, we each make a difference. Our tiny everyday actions really are felt far and wide. Today, many causes have come to light and the champions are ready to serve. Everywhere you look there are folks creating change. Unfortunately, change is hard. What we want does not materialize because we realize we want it. We cannot suddenly change ourselves and we certainly can not suddenly change others. Change takes time.

I developed The SHINE program as a way to support the champions. Those of you who realize we need to change and are trying to be a part of the solution. No matter what your cause, no matter what your calling, no matter who you are The SHINE Program is here to support you and your wishes for your family and the world.

I hope you will explore how you can  Nurture Peace with Presence and join me in this initiative.  This program is a culmination of my personal practice, professional work, and academic study. I look forward to sharing it with you.

Vernal Equinox

Spring is here, in the Northern Hemisphere. A yearly renewal and regeneration of the land, and ourselves on this earth. As the world becomes fertile again, we also seem to be brimming with creativity and new direction.

This is where I am. I feel excited by my fertile thoughts, my fertile heart and mind. I am past the longing for new babes, but the spring reminds me that all my work follows the universal rhythm of conception, pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. Whether we are creating humans or ideas, if we are anxious for the pregnancy to be over we miss the joy of creation.  I've stopped and pondered over this. It has brought back joy and grace to the creative process. Just like being with child, sometimes we are filled with joy and sometimes we are overwhelmed.

This pregnancy analogy led me to a birth comparison that resonates with how I was feeling this weekend. When we labor, we need support, intuition, and education. Even with the best preparation, there still comes a part of labor where it is just HARD, and we wish to give up.  With experience, we learn that if we ride through transition it will soon be time to push. It is like that when we are climbing toward some new accomplishment in our life, there reaches a point like transition.  We wish to give up. We need true and loving support, people who authentically understand what we are trying to do.  We need patience and faith.

Yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices help us ride this wave of insecurity. These practices allow us to observe our minds and hearts with awareness. Without this observer presence (curious, patient and probing), we may bow to fear and change course. With a practice of non-judgement, we can explore our path and wait out the transition phase. As hard as this part is, it's fun. It is the part of yoga, and labor, that I find most engaging. The gentle pushing by not pushing; the hard work of not working hard, and the relaxing into the fear. Suddenly, as soon as we relax into the fear, everything seems less scary and surreally beautiful. There is the magic.

Refreshment, Fertility, Renewal, Creativity. May we revel in the Sacred Magic of Spring.
