Wellbeing in a Technological World
Wellbeing in a Technological World
“Technology is only as valuable as the way it is used” - Dr. Monica Sharma
Tuesdays 6:30pm ET ZOOM, June 9th-30th, 2026
Those of us alive during epoch times of a significant influence on the future. We have a responsibility to consciously consider how to use the tools of the digital age for the benefit of our descendants and Earth. Culture is like the immune system of the collective human body. The cultural behaviors that develop around technology, how we engage with and the relationships we develop with these tools and each other will be felt eternally. Just as the way humans of the past engaged with the dawn of agriculture, written language, and the industrial age continues to have profound effect and influence on us still.
Many of us have become aware of the influences of social media, digital information, and screen use. However, there is more to consider than our personal perspective. Our collective choices and behaviors around technology are shaping human culture from this point forward. Yet, most of us are not making strategic, thoughtful, and contentious choices about our technological behaviors. These times require us to integrate our previous conditioning, our hopes for the future, and our commitment to wellbeing.
This program offers us an opportunity to explore and investigate the power of technological tools andour own power to wield these tools rather than be wielded by them.
Program Includes
4 Group Zoom Meetings to review current research, trends, and human behavior
Self- Assessments to explore healthy tech habits and rituals, identify needs and benefits, notice signs of distress or misuse
Personalized Tech Hygiene Plan to scaffold healthy relationship with technological tools, foster consistent beneficial routines, and protect against complacency and unconscious conditioning
Email Support during and after the program
The internet and social media are modern tools we have just begun to learn to use. Like any tool, how we use it will determine its value.
When used with skill, the internet and social media have the capacity to strengthen connections and build relationships.
Most of the ways we can misuse social media mirrors the issues we have in our offline lives. We attribute these problems to social media and the internet because we notice them more in this new context.
Have you questioned how to use social media in a healthy way? Do you wonder how to maintain knowledge about what is happening in the world and stay present in your daily life? Does the conflict you see online cause you stress? Maybe you notice a change in yourself or your children after spending time on social media. Maybe you worry about the information and access people share online.
In this course participants will:
Explore how to use social media as a mindfulness tool
Engage conscientiously with folklore and storytelling ( social media/screen-based communications)
Identify strategies to manage overwhelm and stress from online settings
Learn relevant ways to manage social media use
Practice skills related to conflict, deep listening, communication, and presence that can be transferred to in person settings
Strengthen their sense of connected-ness
Recognize the value of technology as a way to heal and build relationships
Cultivate greater ability to be present with themselves and others in online and in-person settings
This course is for anyone who wants to develop better digital social skills and internet hygiene for themselves, their families, classrooms, or businesses.
