Prompts

8 questions to hold while exploring relationships

Prompts for Relational Engagement

These journal prompts are valuable to support us in beginner’s mind. We can return to them again and again as we engage in different phases and stages within our selves and our relationships.

IMAGE AND WORDS

Sometimes it is nice to have something tangible to hold and remind us of our intentions. Use this image and/or this blessing as a reminder of your intentions as you navigate complexities and stay true and open to the phases within the whole. ACCESS A PRINTABLE COPY

Articulating Values

Understanding what inner compass points guide us supports us in better understanding our reactions, attractions, and suffering.

Guiding Values

What are your 3 deepest guiding values? Do you know how they influence your way of being in the world? Use this assessment to investigate the interplay within what is most meaningful to you and why. Come to a coffee-time meeting at the beginning of the month, I’ll share my guiding values and how understanding them supports me in relationship with others.

Actions . . .

This month, choose one or two of the actions below:

#1 Engage with and complete one of the resources above.

#2 Explore the Here for the Kids Initiative to address gun violence

#3 Reach out to an old friend you havent heard from in awhile

5 year personal Almanac Journal

September

I’ve changed the format of the almanac pages a little for September. Let me know if this doesn’t work better. If you haven’t started using your almanac pages yet, try just noting something everyday. These notes can be seemingly unrelated, eventually you will notice patterns and can make a more conscious choice about what to notice.

The present moment isn’t an isolated place. It is connected to all that comes before and all that comes after. This almanac journal is designed to highlight the patterns that occur over time. You can chart anything that is important to you, or, even note things that seem completely random. Through the years, you will cultivate both better awareness and clarity about the past and present, as well as develop your skills for reading the future.

Print one or many. Each month for the next year I will release the journal pages. At the end of 1 year, you’ll have the whole journal. If you keep with it, after 5 years you will have an Almanac of events relevant to you. Don’t worry if you aren’t a diligent record keeper. Trust the practice and see what happens. S.H.I.N.E. Meditation Practice

This month’s guided meditation may be familiar to you if you’ve participated in my programs over the years. I encourage you to listen again, as the images, emotions, and insights provoked may be different for you in this phase.

Thank you for joining us in practice for September 2023. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. You will find this month’s coffee-chat meeting times listed on the EVENTS page. Meetings are scheduled for the beginning and end of the month so we can touch base about the resources.
